Unlike individual learning, people engaged in collaborative learning capitalize on one another ’s resources and skills. Based on self-regulated learning, Cooperative Learning lays emphasis on the interaction between teachers,students and learning content, organically combining learning content with teaching procedures. In Cooperative Learning, teachers are partners, instructors and promoters. Students help and depend on each other to accomplish their tasks. taking English Writing Teaching in middle schools as an example, this paper explores the definition, theoretical basis, method, operation, and assessment of Cooperative Learning. It aims at applying the learning style to the harmonious development of students’recognition, affection, attitude and thus promoting students’innovation on the way of learning. It is widely used in English teaching and teaching method.
