一、教学目标
To understand the passage on safety and first aid in an earthquake.
To write simple instructions about what to do in an earthquake.
二、教学过程
Module task: say something about preventing accidents at school using must / mustn’t
Step 1: Leading – in
1) Show a video about earthquakes
2) Show the objectives:
To understand the passage on safety and first aid in an earthquake.
To write simple instructions about what to do in an earthquake.
设计意图:由一段地震的视频导入本课话题,并呈现本课教学目标。
3)Help the students to talk about the pictures in Act 1,
What should we do when an earthquake happens?
present the new words:
under, keep clear of, keep calm, brave, helpful
设计意图:谈论有关地震发生时自救的图片,学习生词,为下一步学习课文打好铺垫。
Step 2:Answer the questions:
. 1, What is difficult to do before an earthquake?
2, Where should you stay before the ground stops shaking?
3, What should you do when you are with other people?
4, What shouldn’t you stand near or under in the street?
设计意图: 读文章,回答问题,让学生查找文章中主要信息,同时理解词汇含义和用法。
Step 3. Decide if the following actions are right or wrong.
When the earthquake started…
1 …I hid under a table.
2 …Sam sat on his desk.

Step 4 .Practice reading the passage loudly
设计意图:朗读文章,正音,并加深对文章内容的理解。
Step 5: Try to retell the passage according to the key words.

P2: Inside:
1,Jump out of…2, hide…stay away from….keep clear of.. 3, leave….when….Don’t use …..4, keep…especially …brave ….helpful
P3: 1, move away…because….fall on …
2, Don’t ….or under…3, stay away from…if….
4, ….be careful of … 5, run away from…
P4: in short , follow ….be safe….help save others
设计意图:根据关键词复述文章内容,操练重点句型:keep away from….
stay away from ….巩固本课的语言知识掌握。
