The dynamic characteristic simulation of the drive axle was analyzed through building the vehicle dynamics simulation model in virtual software. Comparison between different speeds and different roads were made to get the corresponding dynamics of drive axle. Keywords: Drive axle，Assembly，Dynamic characteristics，Model 1 INTRODUCTION The drive axle is main part to bear the body weight and to transfer the power of the truck.It supports the full load of the truck and transfers the load to the wheels.The drive axle may withstand the force from truck vehicle and various complicated force from the road, and this can affect the vehicle ride comfort and stability. Therefore,it is necessary to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the drive axle. 2 THE DYNAMIC MODEL ESTABLISHMENT OF DRIVE AXLE The drive axle model was introduced into ADAMS software. It needed to reassemblethe various components of the drive axle assembly, and to add constraints[5,6]. Then the drive axle assembly model will be established as parabolic format.It needed to build the tire models and the road models, including Ramp road, Roof road and Sine road. The parameters of roads file was shown in Table 1. The axle tube and tire were connected by the revolution joint. Each part of drive axle was connected by fixed joint to achieve the connection of two adjacent parts,such as the connection of the axle tube and the axle housing.The drive axle model was built in ADAMS as shown in figure 2. Each of the moving parts of the drive axle on both sides of the axle tube and the axle housing was entered the same speed tostart the simulation and analyzes of the dynamics of the drive axle .
