Abstract II Abstract Nowadays, web and computer technology provide human more convenient than ever, which make people be crazy about it. When the new technology have been used in the field of education and learning, learning in our whole life comes true. With its huge information sharing and instantaneous information transmission, e-learning has been becoming a kind of inseparable learning way of man. When man is enjoying the comfort provided by e-learning, various crises which severely threaten the web learners appears in e-learning environment. E-learning environment is where e-learning is carried out, therefore, it is important that how to solve the crisis in e-learning environment to make the e-learning sustainable development. In the light of the advantages offered by the mode of thinking with interdisciplinary, what’s more, in the context that ecology has been widely used to analysis different problems, we also introduce the principle of ecology to study the e-learning environment. The paper gives an overview about the e-learning ecosystem (ELES) in the beginning. This section clarity that the ELES is a dynamic and open system and is composed of learning community and e-learning environment, that the ELES belongs to social ecosystem and incessantly exchanges information, energy and substance with it. Secondly, the paper illustrates the connotation, structure and characteristics of the e-learning environment in detail, shows that the e-learning environment is made up of physical environment, social environment and normative environment, and shows the common characteristics of all ecosystems and special characteristics. On the basis, the papers analysis the meaning of ecological crisis in general and in the e-learning environment, analysis the ecological crisis’s manifestation in physical, social and normative environment, and the reason and harm caused by the ecological crisis.
