Methods thyroid hormone-induced ventricular remodeling and incomplete abdominal aorta ligation-induced ventricular remodeling two kinds of animal models to observe the Scrophulariaceae of the cardiac index (heart weight index, HWI), myocardial angiotensin Ⅱ (angiotensin Ⅱ , Ang Ⅱ ), aldosterone (aldosterone, ALD) and angiotensin Ⅱ type 1 receptor gene (AT1A mRNA) expression level of impact. Results Compared with model group, Scrophulariaceae can significantly decrease the HWI, reduced cardiac Ang Ⅱ , ALD content, reduce the over-expression of AT1A mRNA. Conclusion Scrophulariaceae right ventricular remodeling with a marked improvement in function, its mechanism may be inhibited Ang Ⅱ , ALD generation and AT1A mRNA expression. [Keywords:] Scrophulariaceae; ventricular remodeling; angiotensin Ⅱ ; angiotensin Ⅱ 1 type receptor; gene expression Abstract: ObjectiveTo investigate the influence of Xuanshen on the concentration of angiotensin Ⅱ (Ang Ⅱ ) and the expression of angiotesin Ⅱ receptor (Type 1A) mRNA (AT1A mRNA) in ventricular remodeling rats.MethodsTwo ventricular remodeling models were established. One was induced by thyroxin and the other was induced by abdominal aortic stenosis in rats. The heart weight index (HWI), the Ang Ⅱ and ALD concentration, and the AT1A mRNA expression were determined after a period of Xuanshen administration. ResultsCompared with those of ventricular remodeling rats, the HWI , the concentration of Ang Ⅱ and ALD and the expression of AT1A mRNA were decreased in groups treated with Xuanshen. ConclusionXuanshen has an obviously effect on preventive ventricular remodeling. The mechanism may be related to the decline of Ang
