Ovarianmassespresentaspecialdiagnosticchallengewhenimaging?ndingscannotbecategorizedintobenignormalignant pathology.Ultrasonography(US),ComputedTomography(CT),andMagneticResonanceImaging(MRI)arecurrentlyused to evaluate ovarian tumors. US is the ?rst-line imaging investigation for suspected adnexal masses. Color Doppler US helps thediagnosisidentifyingvascularizedcomponentswithinthemass.CTiscommonlyperformedinpreoperativeevaluationof asuspectedovarianmalignancy,butitexposespatientstoradiation.WhenUS?ndingsarenondiagnosticorequivocal,MRIcan beavaluableproblemsolvingtool,usefultogivealsosurgicalplanninginformation.MRIiswellknowntoprovideaccurate information about hemorrhage, fat, and collagen. It is able to identify di?erent types of tissue contained in pelvic masses, distinguishingbenignfrommalignantovariantumors.TheknowledgeofclinicalsyndromesandMRIfeaturesoftheseconditions iscrucialinestablishinganaccuratediagnosisanddeterminingappropriatetreatment.Thepurposeofthispaperistoillustrate MRI?ndingsinneoplasticandnon-neoplasticovarianmasses,whichwereassessedintothreegroups:cystic,solid,andsolid/cystic lesions.MRIcriteriaforthecorrectdiagnosisandcharacteristicsfordi?erentiatingbenignfrommalignantconditionsareshown inthispaper. 1.I
