The optimal conditions of cellulose acetate sulfate (CAS) homogeneous synthesis with the yield of 94–98wt.% have been determined.CASwascon?rmedtohaveanevendistributionoffunctionalgroupsalongthepolymerchain.Thepolymerwas characterizedbyanexceptionallyhighwatersolubility(upto70wt.%).Theisothermaldiagramsofitssolubilityinwater-alcohol mediahavebeenobtained.CASaqueoussolutionsstability,electrolytic,thermal,andviscouspropertieshavebeende?ned.The mainhydrodynamiccharacteristicssuchasintrinsicviscosity,Hugginsconstant,andcrossoverconcentrationhavebeenevaluated.
