The target can be present in a sub- or above pixel. Pixels without targets are classi?ed asbackgroundpixels. Eachpixelistreatedviathecontentofitsneighborhood. Apixel whosespectrumisdifferentfromitsneighborhoodisclassi?edasa“suspiciouspoint”. In eachsuspiciouspointthereisamixoftarget(s)andbackground. Themainobjectiveina superviseddetection(alsocalled“targetdetection”)istosearchforaspeci?cgivenspectral material(target)inhyperspectralimaging(HSI)wherethespectralsignatureofthetarget isknownapriorifromlaboratorymeasurements. Inaddition,thefractionalabundanceof the target is computed. To achieve this we present two linear unmixing algorithms that recognizetargetswithknown(given)spectralsignatures. TheCLUNisbasedonautomatic featureextractionfromthetarget’sspectrum. Thesefeaturesseparatethetargetfromthe background. TheROTUalgorithmisbasedonembeddingthespectraspaceintoaspecial spacebyrandomorthogonaltransformationandonthestatisticalpropertiesoftheembedded result. Experimentalresultsdemonstratethatthetargets’locationswereextractedcorrectly andthesealgorithmsarerobustandef?cient.
