摘要译者作为翻译活动中最重要的因素之一，其主体性作用在很长一段时间内都被人们 所忽视。在传统翻译理论中，译者往往被视为仆人或透明的玻璃。随着翻译研究的“文 化转向”，译者的主体性开始得到应有的重视，并逐渐走向深入，有关译者主体性的讨 论也成为翻译研究的一个热门话题。本文试以现代阐释学原理为理论框架，结合文学文 本的翻译实例，对译者的主体性角色进行探讨。任何翻译都是由理解开始，阐释学理论正是对意义的理解与阐释的研究, 与翻译有 着紧密的联系。本文首先从哲学的概念入手，介绍翻译中的主体和译者主体性。在简要 回顾同阐释学相关的译者主体性研究现状的基础之上，作者指出，目前相关专著和文献 都对阐释学的发展概况和相关理论作了介绍，也都认为将阐释学引入翻译对译者主体性 研究具有重要意义，但这些研究主要停留在理论阶段，并未明确提出如何将阐释学理论 运用于翻译实践，对于如何将两者结合起来也无具体、系统的实例可以参照。基于此， 本文从伽达默尔哲学阐释学入手，运用“理解的历史性”、“偏见”、“视域融合”等阐释 学基本观点，结合霍桑名著《红字》的两个中文译本为实例，来考察和分析译者主体性 在文学翻译过程中的表现。文章通过分析认为，译者和文本都是历史的存在，不同的译者受到各自社会历史大 背景的影响，必然会对原文做出“历史性”的阐释，完全客观、忠实的译本是不可能存 在的。由于理解的历史性，文学阐释中的误读不可避免。特殊历史时期必定催生目的性 翻译。而译者当下视域与原作视域永远无法完全融合又往往导致译者对原作进行文化过 滤。偏见的存在说明翻译不是对原作的简单复制，而是译者对原作的创造性叛逆。文章最后总结得出：一方面，我们必须承认翻译过程本身就是一个创造的过程，译 者主体性作为一种历史性的客观存在，必然在翻译过程中发挥自身的作用，应当受到重 视；另一方面，译者主体性的发挥应该有其限度，不能脱离作者原意和文本随意发挥。 译者本人应该充分认识到自身所担负的社会、历史与文化责任，避免把主体性的存在与 发挥当成自己误译、乱译的借口。译者应该肩负起自身的职责，创造出符合时代要求的 译作。关键词：译者主体性；阐释学；历史性；偏见；《红字》AbstractAs one of the most important elements in the translation process, the subjective role of the translator has been neglected for a long time. In traditional translation theories, translators were always regarded as servants or transparent glass. However, with the cultural turn in translation studies, the subjectivity of the translator has being taken seriously and further studied, which gradually becomes a heated topic in the translation circle. This thesis attempts to use modern hermeneutics as a theoretical framework to analyze the translator’s subjective role with proof from translation practice.Hermeneutics is a study of understanding and interpreting the meaning of the text, which illuminates the process of translation, for all translations start with understanding. The thesis begins with some definitions in philosophy, hence the discussion of subject and subjectivity of translator is brought forward.
