Shizheng Wu Abstract Objective: To investigate the changes of plasma oxidized low density lipoprotein (OX-LDL) and serum level of lipids in patients with acute cerebral infarction from different altitudes, discussing the change of OX-LDL and serum lipids function among cerebral infarction patients and healthy subjects at different altitudes. Materials and methods: To choose 84 patients with cerebral infarction,and according to the elevation divided into three groups, meanwhile healthy subjects were selected as control. Plasma OX-LDL level were detected by ELISA method. Other related risk factors including age, sex, and serum lipids level were also examined. Results: The different of plasma level of OX-LDL and serum lipids in cerebral infarction groups in incidence of significance (P0·05), and the plasma level of OX-LDL in patients with cerebral infarction groups were significantly higher than normal controls (P0·01). The level of TC、TG and LDL in cerebral infarction groups were also significantly higher than healthy controls (P0·05). The level of HDL in patient with cerebral infarction were gradually lower than control groups at different altitudes (P0·01). Conclutions: Plasma level of OX-LDL are dramatically increased in the patients with acute cerebral infarction at different altitudes. Along with the rising of altitudes, the level of OX-LDL were rised up,thus OX-LDL may participate in the pathophysiologic process of cerebral infarction. TC、TG、LDL were risk factor for cerebral infarction. Within the rise of altitudes, the serum level of HDL were gradually lower, maybe it is a potential protective factor.
