Various poisonous gases as well as their perniciousness in the airtight space were summarized including carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), dust, and carbonic oxide (CO). For the stable chemical properties of CO and specificity of airtight space, we proposed the combination of higee technology and complexing absorption by analyzing and comparing the existing purification methods. Due to the features of rotating packed bed (RPB) including small size and strengthened gas- liquid mass transfer process, RPB was chosen as reactor and the solution of CuCl—MgCl2 was served as absorbent. The purification of CO was studied in the airtight space. The complexing mechanism of copper ion (Cu+) and CO was descripted,and absorption process model is established. That the reaction is a process of rapid absorption, greatly influenced by the mass transfer process for reaction. Based on this, the purification experiment for CO with low concentration in the airtight space was conducted in order to develop a novel technology for CO purification. Firstly, the aqueous solution of CuCl-MgCl2 was prepared. According to related reference, the appropriate solvent composition was fixed at 2.6M for CuCl and 4.9M for MgCl2. The density, viscosity and surface tension of the absorbent were 1090kg/m3, 10.2×10-3Pa·s and 50.94mN/m ,respectively.
