At first, we only concerned about the high valued historic architecture then we have gradually realized the importance of the environment around those architectures and at last we pay our attention to the famous historic towns and villages. Our focus also shifted from material level to the invisible living and cultural environment. Moreover, the protecting ways changed from the single static way to comprehensive and sustainable ways. The cultural heritage and the intangible cultural heritage are both very important to human beings because they are the cultural memories of human beings. Although the cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage are displayed in different ways, they are sharing the same value and showing cultural diversity and humans’ intelligence. Only by combining them organically, can we make our sense in protecting those ancient historic sites. Yanloudong town, as a starting point of the tea road for ancient China, Russia and Mongolia, was becoming an important commercial town in Ming and Qing Dynasty since the great development of tea production and trade. The thesis will choose Yangloudong town in Chi Bi as the studying place and study material space and environment and intangible cultural heritage centered as tea culture. The thesis will discuss the relationship between the traditional architecture environment and the intangible cultural heritage by collecting the materials, local research and data analysis.
