华 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 I I 摘 要 科技发展和经济全球化使我国对外交流与合作日益频繁。在传播先进文化和 科技方面，翻译起着越来越重要的桥梁和纽带作用。学术交流是各国科技文化交 流的重要项目之一。译者用奈达的“功能对等”理论指导实践做出了一些尝试。 本文以学术论文 Teaching，Learning, Reflective Acting: A Dewey Experiment in Chinese Teacher Education 为实践对象，撰写翻译报告。文章首先概述原文内容和 作者，然后介绍奈达的功能对等理论，第四部分是具体案例分析，将功能对等理 论运用到学术翻译中来，主要分为三个方面：抛弃传统词性概念；采用核心句的 概念以及句子转换的概念克服句法对译者的束缚；用同构体的理论来克服社会文 化差异所造成的障碍。本文选取了这三个方面分析如何在汉译英语学术论文中运 用功能对等理论，并提出具体的解决办法。 对于译者来说，翻译时应将读者放在首位。依据奈达的功能对等理论，要使 原文读者和译文读者的心理反应基本一致。为了让实现这一目标原则，译者必须 做大量的翻译实践，从中发现问题，总结问题，提高翻译水平。 关键词：英语学术论文 奈达 功能对等 II II Abstract With scientific development and economic globalization, foreign exchanges and cooperation have become increasingly freque nt. Translation performs important intermediate functions in the dissemination of advanced culture and science. Academic exchange is one of the important content of national scientific and cultural exchanges. The author tries to apply the theory of functio nal equivalence by Eugene N ida in translation practice. This is a translation project report on Teaching，Learning, Reflective Acting: A Dewey Experiment in Chinese Teacher Education. This paper first describes the project background, and then introduces N ida’s functional equivalence theory. In Part Four the author tries to apply the theory in practice, including three aspects: discarding traditional concept of part of speech; employing ideas of kernel sentence and transformation of sentence to overcome the limitations in sentence structures for translators; adopting the notion of isomorphism to get across the barriers for diverse cultures. This paper chooses those three aspects to analyze how to achieve equivalence in English academic papers and comes up with methods according to specifics in this translation practice.
