中北大学学位论文 中北大学学位论文 Abstract Social resbonsibility is now a hot issue.According to the Resolution on Major Issues Regarding the Building of a Harmonious Socialist Society, it should be raised to a strategic height of buiding a harmonious society that in the developing stage of popularized higher education, colleges and universities should aim to meet people’s needs of cultivating pratical talents. Furtherly, the social responsibilities of defining the specific models of education and talents training standards of the colleges and universities are now on the table. How should colleges and universities define their social roles? What social responsibilities should they undertake in the background of market economy? In the past years,the theory circle in China has begun to explore and discuss the concept of social resbonsibility of higer education more than before, but the depth of the corresponding research is still limited. This paper suggets that there are several aspects which are vitally imporatant to solve the problems colleges and universities have met while undertaking the social responsibilities. Firstly, the administration of colleges and universities should be regarded as an important part in society administration. Secondly, we should probe the research background, define the research aim, and understand the current research situation of the social responsibilities of the colleges and universities. Thirdy,the real problems confronted by the administration of colleges and univrsities while playing its role in the whole society need deeper discussions;the range of the social responsibilities of colleges and universities is to analyzed and defined; and the legal, moral, academical studies, and ideological political education responsibilities should be attached great importance to; lastly, the social responsibilities should in deed be practised and work after the research period.Colleges and universities should strengthen the cultivation of Four Abil
