Abstract The mobile news client has vigorously developed in the new media age owing to promotion of smart phones. The development status of the mobile news client has begun to take shape, and the rather delicate fabrication of the mobile news client for some mainstream web portals has attracted customers and prompted them to change reading habits with their reading requirements for fragmentation, individuality and differentiation satisfied. However, there are still some problems regarding its development, such as ineffective supervision, flooding of fake news and homogenization of contents, etc. The first chapter of this paper is the study of the origin and development of mobile news client, defines the concept and connotation of mobile news client, the status of users using mobile news client analysis. The second chapter is the study of the characteristics, advantages and limitations of mobile news client. Mobile news client with information content fragments, propagation time quick, news resources integration of three major characteristics.
