PAGE PAGE VI Abstract Objective To provide a proper assessment of the clinical use of orthokeratology by observing and analyzing changes of the contrast visual acuity (CVA ) and the biological parameters of myopic eyes in teenager patients after wearing night orthokeratology lens. Materials and methods 18 patients (34 eyes，aging from 8 to 18 years old) were included in this research. After standard optometry for spectacles, they wore night orthokeratology lens for one month. Retinoscopy was made to measure refractive errors. CVA was measured at 4 contrast levels (100 %, 25 %, 10 %, and 5 %) by the multi-functional visual acuity tester(MFVA-100). Corneal endothelial cells were measured by Ultrasonic pachymetry. Center corneal thickness and anterior chamber length and anterior corneal refractive power （K value） were measured by Obscan Ⅱ， and axial length was measured by IOLmaster. Based on spherical equivalent, the subjects were divided into two groups: low-myopia group (SE-3.00D), moderate myopia group ( -3.00D≤ SE). The therapeutic effect and complications, together with subjective feelings, were recorded. Results (1) All subjects with OK lens had significantly worse CVA than before the treatment with SP ( P 0. 05) ; Moderate myopia group with OK lens had significantly worse CVA than those with SP ( P 0. 05). Low-myopia group had significantly worse CVA than those with SP ( P 0. 05) in 100% contrast ，and showed no significant difference ( P 0. 05) in lower contrast（25 %,10 %, and 5 %）. Biological parameters: K values were lower than the past. The difference was significant (P 0.05). There was no significant difference as to the ocular axial length, corneal endothelial and center corneal thickness and axial length before and after treatment ( P 0. 05). Conclusions Orthokeratology lens could lower K value in short time and change the cornea in curvature to treat myopia. CVA decreased after treatment，especially for the group of moderate myopia.
