Results indicated that affluent consumers – those making more than $100,000 annually – are becoming more price sensitive as they embrace industry disruptors to shop and compare prices. The survey found that: 1. The vast majority of affluent consumers check A for pricing before looking elsewhere. They more frequently shop on A and are increasing their visits to the site more than overall respondents. 2. Affluent shoppers are embracing artificial intelligence (AI) to price compare before buying. The majority of affluent consumers who own a smart speaker such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home use it to check prices on electronics and apparel, with Amazon’s Alexa or Echo being the most popular speaker with affluent consumers. 3. In-store price comparing on mobile devices is growing, with affluent shoppers more likely to price compare at full price retailers than at discount retailers. Further, a higher number of affluent respondents reported that this need is growing. 4. Affluent consumers more frequently shop at discount retailers than at full priced retailers, and are visiting brick-and-mortar and online discount retailers more often than overall respondents. TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods are the favorite discount stores for affluent shoppers. 5. Price promotions and coupons don’t bring
