Pre- reading T guides Ss to recall what was learnt in the last period. T introduces the topic of the lesson and title of the reading passage “The Best of Manhattan’s Art Galleries” . To do some revision. To introduce the title of the reading passage and arouse interest. Step II. While- reading T asks Ss to read the passage for the first time and find out the main idea. What is the passage about? What is the purpose? Who is the text written for? Where can you see it? Ss read the passage and make some information cards to introduce the five museums. T gives a demo of the Frick’s Collection first to help them get familiar with the task. Ss try to introduce the five museums one by one with the help of the information card.
