Review of Unit3 and Unit4 教学设计
Step. 1 Leading-in
Lead in the topics of this class, and ask the students to read them loudly.
Step. 2 Presentation and practice
Act out the learning goals and let them read them by heart.
Work in groups to have a discussion about the per-studying exercises. Ask and answer to solve the problems.
Then provide relevant exercises to check their memories, for example, Tom reads as _loudly______as Tina.
As a result, they can make sure the comparative and superlative class are something about adjectives and adverbs.
Step. 3 Practice more
1.Activity 1. Let’s watch
Play a video by Jia Ling and Qu Ying. Watch it and talk about the different personal traits between them,e.g. I think Qu Ying is taller than Jia Ling.
Activity 2. Let’s listen
Listen to a song and try to get the name of it.
Act out the pictures and information of the three boys in TF-BOYS.
Let students to use the superlative class to talk about them, e.g.Of the three boys, Wang Yuan is the thinnest.
Activity 3. Let’s talk
Show a conversation between A and B. Read it in roles.
As a guess game, who will be the most suitable for the singing competition?
Step. 4 Extension
Changing rules: Comparatives of the adjectives are given by a chart. And attract their attention to the irregular ones, e.g. Little-less-least and so on
Key points about how to use the comparatives, for example, as...as..., a little/ much ...+the comparatives.
Ask them to finish the exercises in time to consolidate what they have learned, e.g. The harder you study, the better grades you will get.
The superlatives can be dealt in the similar way, e.g. I think Spider man is the most interesting cartoon I have ever seen.
Group work
Try to describe their own bast friend by using the comparatives ans superlatives,”In my opinion, my best friend is ...”
Step.5 Summary
Guide them to remember the important role the best friend plays. They must recite some perfect proverbs, e.g. A true friend reaches for y
