Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. I’m Yang Lijuan from No. 3 Middle School of Yi’an District in Tongling. It is my great honor to share my lesson here. My topic today is Unit 10 I have had this bike for three years Section B Reading Hometown Feelings. As you can see, it will be presented in the following seven parts. They are the analysis of the teaching materials and students, teaching objectives, teaching methods, teaching aids, teaching procedures, summary homework, blackboard design and reflections.
Part 1 Analysis of the teaching materials and students
Teaching materials
What: It is about the description of Zhong Wei’s hometown and his hometown feelings.
Why: By studying this passage, students can understand Zhong Wei’s love for his hometown. It can also arouse students’ love for their hometowns and motherland.
How: It is a feature story. It contains four paragraphs, which can be divided into two parts. Part 1 is about the introduction of Zhong Wei. And the second part is about the changes and unchanged memories. Also, Zhong Wei’s hometown feelings are indicated through the whole passage.
Students
Students have already known something about their hometowns. And they have previewed the key words and expressions about hometowns. Besides, they can briefly express their ideas. But they want to learn about Zhong Wei’s hometown feelings and they are very curious about how to introduce their hometowns and share their hometown feelings. So in this period, they are expected to learn how to introduce their hometowns and share their hometown feelings, and form correct value orientation at the same time.
Part 2 Teaching objectives
According to the analysis of the teaching materials and students, and based on New English Curriculum Standard, I set my teaching objectives as follows.
