《语言学概论》教学大纲 课程编号： 1201012 课程性质： 专业基础课 学时学分：/ 32/2 适用专业： 英语 一、课程简介 《英语语言学概论》课程是英语专业的一门专业必修课。本课程主要是让学生系统地学 习英语语言学的基本知识，掌握语言系统内部语言学各分支之间的关系和各分支的重要概念 和基本理论，了解语言学在其他学科领域的应用，熟悉现代语言学重要的流派及其代表人物。 通过本课程的学习，学生可以从不同的角度了解语言，了解有关语言问题的最基本研究方法、 研究领域、概念范畴，掌握语言的本质、功能、结构以及语言的存在和发展规律，初步具备 用科学方法分析语言事实和语言现象的能力。本课程的特点是：专业术语多、概念多、内容 抽象。学生在学习本课程之前应先学习提高语言读写能力的课程，如 《综合英语》、《高级英 语》、《翻译理论与实践》和 《英语写作》等，这样可以减少语言障碍，有利于学好语言学的 理论知识。 Introduction to Linguistics is a compulsory course for English majors. It is mainly intended for the students to have a systematic study of the basics of English linguistics, to achieve a good mastery ofthe interrelationship among different branches oflinguistics andthe important concepts and theories each of them contains, and to familiarize themselves with the application of linguistics in other disciplines and the important schools of modern linguistics as well as their representative figures.Through the study ofthis course,the students are supposed to have abetter understanding of the basic research methods, research fields, categories of concepts for linguistic issues, and to grasp the nature, functions, structures of language and the laws governing its development,with an aim to acquirethe ability touse scientific methodsto analyze language facts and phenomena. This course is featured by plenty of abstract professional terms and concepts. Hence, it is advisable for the students to attend to some prelimilary courses such as Comprehensive English, Advanced English, Theories and Practices of Translation and English Writing so as to facilitate their study of the theoretical knowledge of linguistics by reducing the possiblelanguagebarriers. 二、教学目的与要求 本课程是一门以语言为研究主体，概括介绍语言学基础理论及应用的入门课程， 目的 是使学生充分了解语言的性质 、结构和作用，以及语言在不同学科中的运用。要求学生掌 握基本的语言学知识，包括它的产生、发展变迁过程、研究方法及最基本的语言学理论。同 时，能把语言学理论同语言学习相结合，对一些有代表性的语言现象进行分析，能独立阅读 一般性的语言学论文及著作。 三、教学重点与难点
