Exploration and Application of Task-Based Language Teaching in Primary School English Reading Teaching Abstract: TBLT is an effective teaching method with advanced teaching ideas. With the further development of the new curriculum reform in China, the dominant position of TBLT has been significantly improved. Faced with the limitations of the current traditional teaching mode, educators and researchers have carried out in-depth research on teaching methods in order to comprehensively improve students’ English Core Literacy and give play to their subjectivity and enthusiasm. This paper mainly introduces the concept and elements of TBLT from the perspective of tasks, and on the basis of its characteristics and advantages in combination with the existing problems in English teaching in primary schools, works out effective implementation strategies, and discusses the principles of TBLT and key points of attention for its long-term development in the future. Key words: Task-based language teaching, English reading teaching, implementation strategy and exploration Introduction: Task-based language teaching (TBLT) was widely used in 1980s. It is a teaching mode based on Dewey’s pragmatism as the educational theory. It is a language teaching 1 method that emphasizes “learning by doing” and is the further development of communicative language teaching.
