II万方数据 II 万方数据 ABSTRACT With the increase of academic co-activities in the world, dissertation has became more and more important. And there is a larger demand for translation of dissertation from English to Chinese. As an important tool describing research results, dissertation has an unique style with its own characteristics in vocabulary and syntax.Translators are required to be familiar with its linguistic features and translation skills and use those skills in the translation. Based on my translation of Students’Academic Performance and Various Cognitive Processes of Learning : An Integrative Framework and Empirical Analysis , this report described the original text,translating process and other related things.This report consisted of four parts:description of this work and translating process, the principles of translation of dissertation, analysis of examples,and summarization.In the first part, I made a brief introduction tothis translation work, including the origin and the main idea of the original text.In the second part, I made an introduction to language characteristics and proper translation principles of English dissertation. In the third part,which is the core part of this report, I discussed translation skills and method of English dissertation by analyzing the translation of Students ’ Academic Performance and Various Cognitive Processes of Learning : An Integrative Framework and Empirical Analysis.
