华 华 中 科 技 大 学 硕 士 学 位 论 文 II II Abstract With the increase of foreign economic and cultural exchanges, the types of translation have become more diversified and have involved more and more industries. This report analyzes the translation project of Sustainability in Interior Design. The source text of this project is a primer of interior design. Interior design has recently become a major branch in the construction industry. The purpose of this project is to translate the English textbook Sustainability in Interior Design into Chinese. Its main readers are teachers and students of interior design in China?s colleges and universities. The intention is to help them learn how to plan the interior space reasonably, and to decorate the interior economically and environmental friendly. The project was completed by a small team of three people including the author. The author translated 10,000 words of this book from page 90 to page 106 and page 154 to 177. The whole translation took 10 days. After the translation practice, the author analyzes the original text and the translation, discovered characteristics of the text and the problems needing attention in the translation of such texts. By summarizing, the author hopes to provide advice and reference for future work. The author thinks that as a translator, one can only constantly improve himself and convey information accurately and correctly to the readers by unceasing practice and summarizing with a serious and responsible attitude.
