They have been a strong support throughout my postgraduate years. 摘要 作为先锋作家代表人物，余华因为其极富魅力和表现力的作品得到海内外关注，多部小说被翻 译成外语。《活着》是余华的代表作，英译本在英语市场接受良好，这促使很多翻译研究者探索译 本所采用的翻译策略。虽然已经有许多论文从诸多角度对其英译进行研究，但还未有从明晰化进行 研究，尤其是从明晰化对《活着》中先锋派、颠覆性的反常表达的英译研究。 明晰化是一种翻译普遍特征，存在于翻译的过程中，在来自不同语系的两种语言互译中尤为明 显。《活着》中有很多特色化的中文表达，而英译者白睿文的译文读来十分自然地道，无翻译腔。 本文作者从明晰化视角研究《活着》的英译策略。 本文一开始介绍余华的作品《活着》，介绍明晰化的三个策略，即直译、具体化和正常化。论 文得出结论：《活着》的成功英译依赖的是明晰化，尤其在文化意象和陌生化的英译方面。 关键词：明晰化；先锋派；《活着》 i Abstract As a representative of avant-garde writers, Yu Hua has been given a lot of attention with his works of unparalleled force and attraction, both nationally and globally. Many of his works have been translated into foreign languages. To Live is a classical work by Yu Hua and its English translation is well received in the English-speaking market, which intrigues many translation researchers to study the strategies of translation. Though already studied from many perspectives, the English translation hasn?t been studied from explicitation, especially the English rendering of avant-garde, subversive expressions in the novel. As a universal of translation, explicitation is seen in translation, especially the translation between two languages from different language families.
