It is important for Pan Gang Group Steel Vanadium and Titanium Co. Ltd. (Pan Gang) to improve the response on market changes. The developed purchasing information system is one of the most important components of manufacturing information in Pan Gang. The paper gave a review on enterprise purchase management according to the needs of Pan Gang. A business process was rebuilt to help Pan Gang to improve management. The main works of this paper are as follows: (1) The present state of the current purchase service and purchasing information system was studied in steel industry and manufacturing information. An object and roadmap of purchasing information system in Pan Gang was put forward to control purchasing process according to the strategy of Pan Gang. The system was of standardization, generation and system so as to meet the needs of information. (2) The demand analysis was carried out to optimize the purchase process to get the roadmap of system design. The functions of management, business process of this purchasing information system were gathered. The material codes of purchase were implemented in Pan Gang.
