Method: To collect 149 cases chronic pharyngitis over the age of 18 in ENT Clinic of Chengdu University of TCM（Traditional Chinese Medicine） from July 2008 to December 2008，filling out the symptom questionnaire. The findings of the syndrome were analyzed through SPSS11.5 statistical software： ① General information and characterization of TCM: using descriptive statistical methods, to descrip the percentage of the various statistical characterization。 ② Differentiation of chronic pharyngitis type: in accordance with the eight principal、 organ differentiation, respectively, permit the calculation of the number and percentage of type。 ③ To analyze the characterizations by cluster analysis ， identifying evidence-based classification 。 ④ Analyzing each type of chronic pharyngitis by principal component analysis to determine the principal clinical characterization. Results: General information on clinical analysis: chronic pharyngitis occur in middle-aged. Local complications such as chronic sinusitis see often, too many people with a good voice fat. Characterization of the investigation :a higher rate (20% or more) symptoms are dry throat, pharynx itching, foreign body sensation, no sputum, follicular lymphoid hyperplasia of posterior pharynx, dry and less fluid of the pharyngeal mucosa ,dry cough, retch,pink pharyngeal mucosa , pharyngodynia, difficult to cough sputum viscosity, pain,fatigue, dry stool, burning throat, cough throat to make sound, such as pharyngeal mucosa hypertrophy; Tongue statistics show that moderate tongue, a higher proportion of tongue cracks; the tongue and the tongue that color, then thin yellow tongue coating mamillata; pulse as to composite veins often, the largest proportion of waterloo a few veins.
