Module 6 Hobbies Unit 1 Do you collect anything? I.Teaching aims Knowledge aims: Students can learn new words: fan, stamp, note, pound, dollar ... and so on. Students can learn new phrases: tidy up, have a look ... and so on. Ability aims: Students can listen and understand some topics about hobbies. Students can talk about their hobbies. Students can read and understand some topics about hobbies with the help of pictures. Students can write a short conversation about hobbies. Emotional aim: Helping students to build up good and healthy hobbies. II.Teaching key and difficult points Teaching key points: Words: fan, stamp, note, pound, dollar..and so on. Target language: What’s your hobby? My hobby is ... Teaching difficult points: How to make students master the new words and phrases. How to make students talk about hobbies in real situation. III.Teaching procedures Step 1 Warming up Get students ready for learning. Take a photo with the whole class. Step 2 Pre-listening Brainstorm Ask students what they often do in their free time. Lead students to review some phrases they learned in the past. Show some pictures and lead students to learn new words and phrases: fan, stamp, tidy up... and so on. Step 3 While-listening Lead students to listen and find out who collects the things in the pictures, choose some students check answers. Lead students to listen again, and ask students to choose the best answer. Ask students to read the dialogue together. Lead students to complete the notes. Step 4 Post-listening Work in pairs: Ask and answers questions about your hobbies, then choose some students to talk about their hobbies in front of the whole class. Step 5 Summary and homework Sum up the knowledge in this unit. Work: fan, stamp, note... Phrases: tidy up, have a look...
