StepⅠ Revision and Lead-in
Greet the class as usual. Talk about the school rules.
Simply explain the meaning of the word “rule”.
Step Ⅱ Talking about the picture (1a)
1. Ask the students to talk about the picture.
2. Ask the students to read the school rules and tell which rules these students are doing are right or wrong?
3. Point out the students in the picture and the boxes next to them.
Write these words and expressions on the board and ask the students to repeat them.
arrive late, run, eat, listen to the music, fight
Then make conversation with students using these words.
Step Ⅲ Listening (1b)
1. Ask the students to tell what the students are doing.
2. Read the instructions and make sure the students know what to do.
Play the recording for the first time.
Notice: Make sure the students catch the right information. If not, ask them to listen sentence by sentence.
3. Point out the lines after the names where students will write the numbers of the rules and then play the recording for a second time.
Play the recording. And then check the answers.
StepⅣ Pairwork (1c)
Write the following on the board.
Don’t arrive late for class. Don’t run in the hallways.
Ask the students to read the sentences repeatedly.
Ask the students to do the Pairwork. First make an example.
