Abstract : As the further studies on syntax and semantics went on, the unique feature of pragmatics at-
tracts more and more people. s attention. This paper attempts to survey the hinese pragmatic studies
in following aspects: the origin and development of pragmatics, the introduction of pragmatics to hi-
na, applying pragmatic theory to hinese, and individual field and the pragmatic studies in text and
context. Meanwhile, we make a brief comment on it.
