President Hu Jintao (2007) declared at the seminar of thenational excellent teacher representatives—teachers are the inheritors of the human civilization.Teachers are the key to promote the sound and rapid development of the cause of education andcultivate high-quality talents. s of teachers, there is nohigh-quality education. To some extent, the development and progress of schools depend on thequalities of teachers. In this sense, it is of high necessity for us to improve teachers’ professionalacplishments and attainments. And this issue is supposed to bee our constant pursuit in theent. Of course, this research topic does e to the mainfocus and field in current research in practice.The English TPD is based on the general TPD. Similar to the general research on generalTPD, the research on English TPD also focuses on the elementary education level, ent. pared to theEnglish-major TPD, the research on college English TPD appears to be relatively marginalized.(Gao Sixia, 2010)In light of hoote TPD, the educational munity has made large quantities ofresearch both in theoretical and practical levels and colorful achievements have bee in public.Nevertheless, from the current study, it is found that the research is limited mainly in cultivatingindividual’s practical and reflective ability, and imparting knoerous practices indicate that isolation from others in educationis not conducive to TPD. …….. 1.2Purpose and Significance of the Research On the basis of the above analysis and discussion of the current background and necessity ofresearch on peer coaching in TPD, the thesis, aims to pensate the defect of the previous studyin both research depth and scope.
