Since 1980s, a trend of retranslation of literary masterpieces has begun to prevail in the translation field of China. Today, there is a variety of translation versions of literary masterpieces placed on the bookshelves of bookstores, in which the old versions and the new ones are intermingled. For instance, the famous English novel Pride and Prejudice, authored by Jane Austen, has nearly twenty Chinese translation versions now. Faced with so many Chinese translation versions, Chinese readers inevitably feel too puzzled and perplexed to be determined to buy which version at once. Some scholars think that retranslation is unnecessary and insignificance now that retranslation is to repeat the translation work and it not only results in the phenomenon that the good translation versions and the bad ones are intermingled in the market but also is
