BLADE DESIGN AND STUDY ON SPEED REGULATION TECHNOLOGY OF WIND TURBINE
ABSTRACT
Blade is one of the key components of wind turbine, and blade design is one of the key technologies of wind turbine. Therefore it is important to design blades with good aerodynamic performance and structural performance. In this paper, after design goals of aerodynamic performance and structural performance were considered , structure-first design approach for blades was put forward and this approach was further studied by an example.
Firstly, aerodynamic fundamental theory of wind rotor was introduced. And specific methods and steps of blade design were derived from three kinds of design model of wind rotor.
Secondly, after existing design methods of blade were stuied, structure-first design approach for blades was put forward and its mathematical model was set up. In combination with an example of blade-design of 1200kW wind turbine, the advantages and disadvantages of structure-first design approach were analyzed in comparison with Wilson design approach. In addition, the key connecting part —blade root— was designed and its strength was analyzed.
Thirdly, a blade tridimensional solid-model of 1200kW wind turbine was builded by SolidWorks according to airfoil data of blade obtained with structure-first design approach. And a blade finite element model was builded by ANSYS to analyze static and dynamic performance of the blade.
Finally, speed regulation of wind turbine was studied. According to the differences of control strategies of wind turbine, wind turbines were divided into four classes, and their control process and the change of power output and power coefficient with different wind speeds were analyzed. According to these analyses, blade optimum design method based on different operation modes was put forward.
