Reading strategy Draw students’ attention to reading strategy and make sure that students know the key elements in a story. Output of reading strategy 1.Tell students to find the relevant information in the article according to Reading Strategy. 2.Check answers with them. Reading Comprehension 1.Encourage students to read the article carefully and finish the exercises part C1, C2, and D. 2.Have them discuss in groups. Further understanding Get students to answer a few more challenging questions to help them understand the text better. Post-reading Encourage students to retell the story with the help a few phrases. Discussion Ask students to have a discussion about the personality of the old man and things we could do for the old. Role-play Encourage students to have a role play and shoe them a few sample questions for reference. Homework 1.Read this article again and underline some useful phrases. 2.Finish exercise E to consolidate what they have learned in class.
