Ask the students to discuss what food or drinks they like, and ask some students to give answers. II. Introduce the learning content to the students: They are going to read further information about different diets around the world. Pre-reading I. Present some new words and photos in the menu on Page 73. Tell the students their meanings and pronunciations. II. Ask the students to discuss the following phrases and tell which of them belong to a Western menu and which to a Chinese menu: hot dishes, main courses, starters, cold dishes. Reading practice (1) I. Ask the students to skim the passage in Activity ① on Page 73, and try to make an order for themselves. Remind them of the order of making orders. II. Ask the students to answer some questions that appeared in the previous lesson: What would you like for...? I’d like..., please. III. Ask the students to read the menu in Activity ②, and invite some students to play the roles of a customer or a waiter using the menu. IV.
