                Module 3 Oliver Asks for More 教学设计
学生课前学习设计:
1.预习本部分生词,要求能正确发音,并拼读部分重点单词。
2.网络搜索3-5部外国文学名著及其作者,课外交流。
3.网络搜索3-5部狄更斯的著名作品,狄更斯本人生平。重点搜素《雾都孤儿》,包括时代背景,小说的简介及其引发的社会意义,并作课外交流。
4.找几名已经看过这部电影的同学,提前预习课文,结合电影和课文情节编排《Oliver Asks for More》短剧。
课堂教学活动设计
Teaching Aims
1.Grasp the main idea and the structure of the passage; Learn the simple steps of describing a story. 
2.Understand the passage by answering questions.
3.Improve the reading skills-skimming and scanning according to different reading goals.
4.Develop the sympathy for the poor orphans in the 19th century of England and cherish our life today. 
Teaching methods
Methods based on reading :skimming,scanning carefully-reading group competition(全班按列分为4大组,按座位就近分为9个小组,学生以小组为单位复述课文,续写故事,抢答问题,小组成绩计入大组,最后看哪个大组优胜。)

Step1 Leading-in
T:Do you like reading novels?    Ss: Yes\No.
T:What novels have you read?     Students own answers.
T:Have you read these novels?(ppt2 and 3) Yes\No.
T:What about these? ( ppt4 ) Do you know who wrote them? Yes, Charles Dickens.What do you know about him? ( ppt5 )
A bief introduction about Charles Dickens by a student or the teacher.
T:Today we’ll read an extract from his novel Oliver Twist .First,read the teaching aims togeher. ( ppt6 )
Step2 Reading
1.The first task for you,see the scene from the film Oliver Twist and answer the questions: What did Oliver ask for? And why? ( ppt7 )
Students watch and answer.
2. Read the passage from Oliver Twist and choose the best summary. ( ppt 8,9 10)
T:When you find a summary,remember not to read it sentence by sentence,just read it quickly and find what you want. (skimming)
3.Read the passage again and answer the three questions. ( ppt11 )
1).Why did the boys decide to ask for more food?
