引导学生主动参与英语阅读活动思考   摘 要:教师如何激发学生对英语阅读的兴趣,让学生积极主动地参与阅读活动是本文所研究的课题。要达到这样的目的,一个好的阅读老师应该从学生的兴趣、需要、语言能力与知识、学生可能遇到的阅读困难出发,来设计泛读教学方法与活动。作者经过认真学习与深刻思考,对阅读课教学产生了新的认识,并且提出了一个具体的行动方案。   关键词:泛读;动机;参与;交互;计划      1Introduction   It’s a common problem for us EFL teachers to deal with a passive class, where most students tend to be unresponsive and avoid interactions with the teacher. It can be a frustrating experience for both parties to be confronted with silence after the teacher asks a question to the class as a whole, expecting at least one or two students to respond. This paper attempts to explore this problem and seeks to create a more interactive atmosphere and improve students’ participation in an extensive reading class. In this paper, I will start by presenting the problem arising in my extensive reading class before I explain why I think it is problematic and who it is for. After that I will elicit some available viewpoints in the field of teaching extensive reading so as to explore the theoretical factors behind the problem. Then I will present some possible and practical teaching plans which I will be thinking of.At the end of the paper, I will make a conclusion by summarizing my new new ideas about teaching extensive reading.   2Problem Identification   My class consisted of a group of 38 junior college students coming from junior secondary schools after passing an entrance exam. Most of them would be primary school English teachers after they completed their five years’ education in the university. Their English level ranged from lower intermediate to lower advanced levels. Thinking that by extensive reading they would develop a wider knowledge of the world and a positive attitude towards English learning as well as a wider vocabulary, with great ambition and enthusiasm for it, I set about my work by making a detailed overall course plan and looking here and there for various types of reading materials.   But to my disappointment, I noticed that the students
