He devoted his entire life to exploring children education, established scientific children education theories, and revealed children’s physiological characteristics such as game loving. He drew the following conclusions: Game playing is the life of children; the goal of education should aim at children’s physical, moral and intellectual development; curriculum setup should base its center on activities; game playing should be highlighted in teaching methods and teaching organization; there is a certain relation between game content/form and children’s age. He also pointed out several issues to be noticed when children are playing games. Chen He-qin valued game playing not only ideologically, but also physically in his practice of education, making an important contribution to the development of the modern children education undertaking of China.
