Results:Positive expression rate of EGFR and EGFRvⅢ in gastric carcinoma tissues were higher than normal gastric tissues (P0.01), their positive expression rate were 65.5%,58.6% and 30%,0%. Their expression were irrelated with gender, age, size,and site of gastric carcinoma (P0.05),but were closely related with the degree of differentiation,depth of invasion node metastasis and clinical stages and distant metastasis of gastria cancer patients (P0.05).The radical resection rate in gastric cancers with both positive EGFR and EGFRvⅢwas 37.9％.significantly lower than that with both negative EGFR and EGFRvⅢ (P=0.000). Conclusion:EGFR and EGFRvⅢhave been found in many gastric carcinoma tissues.Over- expressed EGFR and EGFRvⅢ may be really related to initiation and progression of gastric carci- noma．These results were indicated that,whereas,EGFR and EGFRvⅢcould be regarded as the marker for predicting the initiation and prognosis of human gastric carcinoma.And the specificity expression of EGFRvⅢcan make it become the ideal target treatment of gastric carcinoma.
