With the development of China’s education and social civilization, especially the popularity of “People-centered” theory, the problem of educational rights for the disabled youth has drawn much attention. However, the domestic level of education for persons with disabilities still lags far behind that of developed countries in the world. The author chooses the book Students with Disabilities Faculty and Staff Resource Guide (Chapter 1,3,4) published by De Anza College to study and translate. The guide, which provides suggestions for the faculty and staff on campus to deal with matters related to students with disabilities, belongs to informative text. In response to the informative text, Peter Newmark put forward communicative translation, which attempts to produce on readers an effect as close as possible to that obtained on the readers of the original text and let the intended readers think, understand and act. Therefore, the author decides to use communicative translation theory to address the problems appearing in the source text. In accordance with communicative translation theory, the intended readers shall be the focus in the process of translating. In this process, the author finds that the source text contains many terminologies in the fields of law, medicine and medical devices.
