Unit 4 Body Language-Grammar Part 1 Analysis of Teaching Material and Students Analysis of Teaching Material This lesson is a grammar learning. . 2. Analysis of the Students The students are in Senior One , so I set some songs and interesting tasks in order to develop their interest and confidence in English study. Part 2. Teaching Important and Difficult Points 1. Teaching Important Points Enable the students to master and use important grammar: Present Participle Used as Adverbials. 2. Teaching Difficult Point How to make them use these grammar properly in specific context. Part 3 Teaching Aims According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, the teaching aims are as follows: Knowledge aims Students can read and master the grammar. 2. Ability aims 1) To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and reacting. 2) To improve the students’ abilities of using language 3. Emotional aims To develop the students’ interest in English study by showing some pictures, watching videos, listening to music and playing games. Part 4 Teaching Methods In order to achieve these teaching aims, I will use the following teaching methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories. 1. Task-based Language Teaching 2. Communicative Language Teaching 3. Cooperative Language Teaching 4. Grammar Translation Part 5 Teaching Aids 1. a multimedia 2. pictures 3. poem Part 6 Teaching Procedures Step 1 Lead in I will greet the students and use a poem” when you are old” to lead in and give the concept of “Present Participles Used as Adverbials”. Step 2 Mind Map. I will show students a uncompleted mind map and then add more details step by step. Step 3 A Column I will show students a column which contains every usage and meaning of present participle used as adverbials. Step 4 More Examples I will give more examples to illustrate the usage and meaning of the grammar.
