一、Teaching aims
1、Knowledge aims:
(1) Words and expressions:
Students are able to master the meanings of the key words and expressions, such as talent, have ...in common, magician,be up to sb, play a role in, and so on.
Sentences:
Students are able to master the following sentences:
a.Talent shows are getting more and more popular.
b.They try to look for the best singers, the most talented dancers, the most exciting magicians, the funniest actors and so on.
c.Some think that the lives of the performers are made up.
d.What do you think of these shows?
2、Ability aims:
a.To improve Ss’ reading skills, such as getting the main idea and skills of
skimming and scanning.
b.Ss learn how to evaluate a program or a person by reading the introduction of talent shows.
3.Emotional aims:
a.Let Ss understand it’s not necessary to take some things seriously.
b.Encourage Ss to make themselves better and better.
二、Important and difficult teaching points
a. The students can talk about a talent show by using comparative and superlative forms of adj. And adv.
b.Improve Ss’ reading skills
